Commercial Insulation
Metropolitan Insulation, A Commercial Insulation Specialist
For high performance commercial insulation, Polyurethane Spray Foam is widely considered the ideal material.
It is used extensively throughout all industrial and commercial applications, ranging from warehouses and distribution centres, to exhibition and entertainment venues, showrooms, shops and even football stadiums.
Polyurethane spray applied foam is both cost effective and versatile – solving insulation and condensation problems instantly, it adheres to and can be applied to virtually any surface, filling any gaps seamlessly.
Environmentally friendly and helping boost energy efficiency, Polyurethane Spray Foam insulation is also suitable for encapsulating asbestos found within older buildings, negating the need for and expense of asbestos removal.
In any newly built or established building, our team will apply the foam to the underside of roofs or to the face of walls to a specified thickness.
A K-value of 0.022 W/mK gives superb insulation and heat retention, reducing U-values from ~6.0 W/m²K with as little as 75mm of foam. A U-value of ~0.48 W/m²K is possible with only 50mm of foam.
Once applied, the resulting surface is non-toxic and emits no harmful vapours or odour. Moreover it is highly resistant to chemical attack and will not absorb water. The surface can cope with emulsion painting or chlorinated rubber vapour barriers. And for convenience and health and safety, it can also withstand high-pressure jet washing.
Metropolitan Insulation Services insists upon meeting rigorous BS 476 Part 7 fire retardant standards. For environments where extra fire protection is necessary, we can supply Class zero standard accordingly.

Metropolitan’s latest installation has been well received and a great success.
The site which is a very upmarket Scandinavian poultry restaurant is situated in Middlesex Street close to Tower Bridge. The objective of the exercise was to reduce airborne noise to the flats above. Also the issue of reverberation noise is combated.
When the restaurant is full the noise generated is dissipated by our system. This is another example of low density open cell acoustic foam being used successfully. It can be left open as in this instance or covered up also. The product is BBA certified and can have a zero fire rating added also. Modern semi commercials like this benefit hugely from technology.
