Sound Proofing Walls

Soundproofing Walls with Metropolitan Insulation.

Soundproofing walls reduces noise pollution traveling through walls. There are various methods soundproofing walls, of which spray foam insulator is one of the most effective.

Metropolitan Insulation Services provides tailored sound reduction solutions and our polyurethane sprayed application is ideal for soundproofing walls in both domestic and commercial properties, without increasing wall thickness.

Single skin walls such as brick, lightweight blocks or stud partitions allow unacceptable levels of noise through easily.

By creating a cavity and applying our spray foam sound insulation foam, our technicians can reduce sound levels.

Our closed cell (rigid) polyurethane foam is sprayed by the inch. This spray on insulation stops air infiltration – outside air cannot come in and inside air cannot leak out - by creating a monolithic vapor barrier and thus eliminating condensation in your walls (or indeed floors and ceilings).

When used to insulate homes and commercial buildings, Metropolitan Insulation Services’s spray foam solution can add major strength to the structures, which in turn can reduce initial building costs. Energy bills are also reduced – good news for homeowners and those with commercial property.

The CFC-free, ODP-zero, two-component rigid foam system from Metropolitan Insulation Services, when processed through spray technology, produces a rigid foam with exceptionally good compressive strength.

Approximate density is 35kg/m3, and the service temperature range is -50°C to 80°C.

When tested to BS476 Part 7, the foam achieves a Class 1 surface spread of flame.

Applications:

  • Soundproofing walls in domestic and commercial properties
  • Under tile applications in domestic and other properties.
  • Internal insulation of industrial and warehouse units.
  • Internal insulation of agricultural buildings.
  • Condensation control.

Metropolitan Insulation Services aims to increase levels of acoustic protection by at least 13-25dB. In a typically poor performing wall (where you can hear TV and loud speech easily) you would, after spray foam insulation application, find loud speech and music virtually inaudible.

Spray foam insulation is a safe, green alternative to other insulation materials.

  • Absorbs 50% of the sound energy transmitted through air
  • Excellent fire retardant properties
  • All domestic property where noise pollution is a problem
  • Music noise from clubs and pubs
  • Ease of application with spray, injection or molding
  • Apply to walls, roofs, ceilings, floors and machinery – prevents noise invasion
  • Machinery noise from industrial buildings
  • Animal noise from agricultural buildings
